I’ve been a direct marketing copywriter for 30 years.

My client have included The Nature Conservancy, Citrix, Smithsonian, Time-Life, World Wildlife Fund, GEICO, Eating Well Magazine, Rodale, Oxford University Press, National Audubon Society, American Express, Childrens Mission Fund, National Wildlife Federation, International Masters Publishing, and many other for-profit and non-profit organizations.

My work has won ECHO, AMBIT, and MAXI Awards, and in 2003 I was named Direct Marketer of the Year by the New England Direct Marketing Association. I have served on the Boards of both NEDMA and the Direct Marketing Association of Washington. I am a current member of the New York Direct Marketing Club.

My books include McGraw Hill’s Write on Target (with Floyd Kemske) and The New Marketing Conversation (with Alex MacAaron).

I created the first copywriting seminar for the Direct Marketing Association and enjoyed teaching online and in-person seminars for DMA on copywriting for 20 years.

I taught copywriting and writing at regional DM clubs, Johns Hopkins University,The American University, Fairleigh Dickinson University and many other settings. I have given in-person copywriting seminars at Fidelity, AIG, AT&T, Worldwide Business Research, Citrix, National Wildlife Federation, and other organizations. I have a fellowship from the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University, a Scholarship from Bread Loaf Writers Conference, awards for fiction and poetry.

My novel, FORTUNE, was a semi-finalist in the 2011 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards and also won a PEN/New England Discovery Award. My collection of stories has been a Finalist in the Iowa Fiction Awards. My offices are in Bernardsville, NJ and Manhattan.
